    Possible causalities between malnutrition and academic performances of elementary school children: a cross-sectional study in rural Madagascar: an evaluation

    Never before had a study reported on nutritional status in Madagascar that spoke to the contribution to academic performance in children in the country. The researchers using tools such as AnthroPlus (WHO, Geneva) and SPSS for Windows V.22 (IBM/SPSS), pointed out the importance of addressing malnutrition as it relates to children's academic performance. The researchers' efforts resulted in the production of positive coefficients in their analyses. In a country with severe child malnutrition, economic productivity can never be increased. From the precisely estimated data, the researchers were able to trace the relationship between malnutrition and school attendance. The variable representing the frequency, the associations between malnutrition of school children and their academic performances, and the causes between the nutritional status of children and their academic performances were estimated. At the end of the study the researchers made some recommendations, such as measuring the height of children in each elementary school, scoring on the growth chart, regular monitoring of children's height among others. But also strengthening the existing school feeding program to ensure a more frequent and sustainable supply of school meals. The children in rural Antananarivo-Avaradrano, Madagascar thank you.
